Head of Communications Blog- August 2009

Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatulahi Wa Barakatuh,
 
My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, Ramadan Kareem to you all. I pray that this month promises to be an outstanding one for all. One in which we re-set our goals, enhance our worship, come closer to our creator, are saved from the fire and achieve Jannah insha'Allah.
 
If July was a month of assisting committees to set themselves up and finalise their recruitment processes, August has been a month of planning. This month see's the compilation of all committee yearly plans and project proposals, ensuring that the federation runs on a more professional and organised level, and creating greater transparency within the organisation. Compiling all these plans and projects also assists in managing and supporting them for the rest of the year. I am in the process of doing this now, and the volume of projects and plans im receiving are very exciting- isoc's look out!
 
This month also saw the training of my communications committee, including general secretaries of the different regions and committees in FOSIS, and website training conducted by sr Sabeen and br Obada, hopefully preparing us for a fantastic year ahead for the FOSIS website insha'Allah. The first team fosis digest was also sent out, and a small trailer was produced by brother Munir from Ireland for the occasion :)

All in all, August has been about planning planning planning! As the month ends, the transition into action is filtering through, preparing us for a splendid energy boost to come. Look out for the September blog for more!
