North Blog- August 2009

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu,

A month has literally flown, Ramadan is going by quickly and I am left wondering what the north committee have achieved in August! Alhamdullillah, affiliations forms have been sent out and we already have some affiliated Isocs. Charity Week workshops were held in Leeds and Manchester and were well attended. The Isocs are really enthusiastic about the project and they all seem eager to win (Watch out Leeds).  Inshallah the project will have more Islamic societies on board this year and we really hope that everyone enjoys it and that they surpass last years target. Plans are being made for the Charity Week Round off Dinner/ FOSIS North Dinner, so if you have any suggestions for speakers let me know.  Last years event was really special and we aim to recreate a similar event.

Inshallah  the North committee have  two key events in the pipeline, one is Isoc 101 which will be sometime in October, and the second is a seminar hosted by a leading Shaykh. Isoc 101 was a hugely successful event last year and for anyone that is part of their Isoc committee, it is absolutely essential that they attend. The date and venue will be confirmed by the 10th of September. Inshallah I can't wait for the term to begin and for the North committee to start visiting all the Isocs, thats when the real work will begin. If you have any comments, queries or suggestions please email me at north.chair@fosis.org.uk
