Assalaam 'alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu.

“All actions a human being does are his with the exception of fasting which belongs to Me. I reward it accordingly.”

-- Related by Al-Bukhari.

We generally restrict the idea of Ibaadah down to the actions that we are most familiar with: extra prayers, Quran recitation, fasting etc. The concept of Ibadaah goes far beyond; working for the good of fellow brothers and sisters is hugely a meritorious act. FOSIS has given the student population that opportunity to take part in such an Ibadaah. Brothers and sisters have been busy engaging in activities this blessed month of Ramadan, planning and executing ideas for the new academic year, paving the way for an efficient and grass root Isocs across the South. We the South Committee have been involved in forming the new committee, planning the new academic year through the changing nature of student populous and its environment. Inshallah our plans include training for Isocs, speakers tours, charity events, SAC work, freshers packs, dawah and much more.

With Ramadan starting before the academic year, by the time freshers weeks start for most of the Isocs in the South we will be in full throttle in the spirit of Ramadan. May Allah give us the strength to maintain this spirit throughout the remaining days of this month and throughout the whole year inshallah. The hadith I mention above, it is a great promise from Allah (swt). When Allah (swt) rewards an action as purely His, then the reward is limitless. It is given by the one whose generosity is not measured by percentage, multiplication or any other measure. It is commensurate only with His glory. Let us capitalize on this blessing and keep up the work.
