I pray that this finds you all in the best of health and highest levels of Eman, Ameen.

So I was on the train back from London the other day, I looked around and felt an overwhelming feeling of respect and love for everyone on my carriage. Before you stop reading, let me explain. They all seemed very focused- on something, some seemed a bit worried, others stared blankly. I wanted to get up and tell them about the beauty of Islam, I wanted to (and I can't seem to find a strong enough word here…) implore them to give Islam a chance- to forget the Muslim, the terrorists and look at the essence of our beautiful religion. I then felt a tingle of what I would probably describe as a panic attack- what had I done to show them the true Islam? This was swiftly followed by an overwhelmingly grateful feeling- alhamdullilah I am Muslim so what are my worries, concerns and fears when I think that Allah swt has given me the biggest blessing anyone can ask for- Islam- I pray that Allah swt keeps me and everyone who reads this steadfast on His path and guides others through us, ameen.

Now, a question to Team FOSIS- how's the buddying going? (I'm hoping you've at least heard about it by now J…). I pray that you've at least given it a go insha'Allah- if you don't like it, please say! I'm sure we can make it work for you- if you're yet to apply it, all I can say is please have a go! You have absolutely nothing to lose, well maybe a few mobile minutes or a few calories spent on typing an email. It's as simple as that…

Since the buddying, we umm'ed and ahh'd about having an away weekend this side of term. Unfortunately, due to your busy diaries we've decided that you are more likely to attend if it's next term- so insha'Allah keep an ear/eye out for an email with details about this amazing weekend that insha'Allah promises to be a great opportunity for us all to gel/bond/unite…

Coming up insha'Allah- in an inbox near you will be regular online reminders from your executive committee, to lift our spirits and help us reflect insha'Allah. When you do receive them, I humbly request that you react- with an email, sharing a thought or even a prayer. It may not take long, but it will go a long way insha'Allah!

The dua of a Muslim for his brother/sister (in Islam) in his/her absence is readily accepted, an angel is appointed to his/her side, whenever he/she makes a beneficial dua for his/her brother the appointed angel says "aameen and may you also be blessed with the same". [Sahih Muslim]- nothing to lose!

Other than the personal development side of Team FOSIS- I have also enjoyed reading copious amounts of emails, attending meetings, oh, and studying medicine J
