Assalamulaikum my dear brothers and sisters in Islam

I begin in the name of Allah (swt) the most merciful the beneficent.

Alhamdulillah, the FOSIS journey continues and once again I have the opportunity to be a part of this special and unique organisation. I pray that Allah (swt) guides us to work for His sake and put barakah in our efforts. Since being elected to the VP Training an HR role, I have been in consultation with the previous committee in an attempt to ascertain an understanding of the valuable work which they have done and hope to continue on their  efforts. A new committee has now been set up alhamdulillah and roles allocated. We will also be having our first meeting tomorrow inshAllah, which will give everyone a chance to touch base and discuss the tasks allocated to them specifically. This year we hope to triple recruitment and add a layer of professionalism and efficiency to the organisation with clear codes of conduct and strategies in improving the internal workforce within team FOSIS, as well as to draw in new volunteers and ensure a healthy turnover of diverse skills within the organisation. These are some of the areas we will be working on throughout the year inshAllah:

• Buddying Scheme
• Recruitment strategy
• FOSIS handbook
• Core modules
• Islamic monthly reminders/Sacred science project
• Team FOSIS event
• Two part leadership course (December/February)

I was away for two weeks this month and during this time Sr Rayan successfully oversaw the committee may Allah (swt) shower His mercy and blessing on her. Before I left I allocated certain tasks to the team which will be further enhanced throughout the year as each individual oversees their assigned projects. I ask you all to make dua for us so that we can help benefit the Muslim student Ummah and increase the level of professionalism within FOSIS inshAllah.
