Wales & West Chair - Feb-March 2011

Assalamu’alaykum

It’s been a busy few months! In November we held our annual Fosis Wales Awards dinner, where we dish out awards to isocs in recognition for their hard work. There was no outright winner this year Swnsea, Bristol and Cardiff all took home 3 awards! Alhumdulillah we had over 125 people attend, our greatest attendance yet since we started in 2006, far more people than we expected such so that some brothers didn’t even have food!

Since then we’ve also helped provide speakers to different isocs. Bristol had Tariq Al-Dewainy for a talk on Islam and Banking. We also organised a Yusha Evans tour where he did da’wah training in Bristol, followed by a talk in Cardiff on ”Price of Paradise” and then the following day in Swansea on “How the Bible Led Me To The Quran”. Alhumdulillah brother Yusha was a huge success, very popular with the audience with good turnouts at each event

We’ve also supplied Dr. Jamal Badawi and Idris Tawfique to Cardiff Isoc also

In addition to this, we have provided English translations of the qurans and da’wah materials to isocs for IAW- this has included over 1000 Qurans! From the feedback received, looks like next year we may well need close to double that amount!

As for regional projects, we have the Fosis Wales&West regional tournament this coming weekend insha’Allah, and we are also preparing for the regional NSQC and a Sisters Ball event
