Asalaamu alaykum.

The exam period has been a bit of a lull in terms of ISoc activity, but alhamdulillah, FOSIS still pulled off some great events including the Finklestein tour. I was deeply pleased with the tour, which brought Muslim students into a new level of debate for the Palestine issue, a level of debate that will involve academics and politicians.

I'll be looking forward to working with Islamic Societies this coming semester. The Isocs are preparing for Islam Awareness Weeks, which has always been (and most likely always will be) the staple ISoc event. I pray it’s successful, and everyone involved is rewarded. May Allah purify our intentions.

I'll end with the advice that I was once given about intentions. Pure intentions are of course, a must, and may Allah help us keep them far removed from envy, jealousy, lust, greed and a desire for the dunya. But along with pure intentions, we should remember the great intentions. Why intend to do something small, when if you intend to do something great, you will get the reward from Allah (regardless of whether you achieve it) and perhaps you may even reach that ambitious goal by the help of Allah.

Jazakallahu khair.
