The FOSIS National Student Qira'at Competition (NSQC) aims to bring students closer to the Qur'an; its meaning and its stories.

This is an opportunity to spend more time reciting, understanding and learning the greatest book on Earth.

Motivating students to progress in their understanding is what has inspired FOSIS to create this competition.

This competition should not be considered to be a competition in which only the most experienced students should register. This competition is about motivating each and every one of us, especially those who know just a little (or nothing) about tajweed, or those who do not know much about Quran.

Instead, the "competition" shall be considered as a way to motivate oneself to start spending time with the Quran, making it our constant companion and trying to learn tajweed and to start memorising it. There are unlimited benefits and teachings in the Quran; we should use this as a springboard to keep its recitation, memorisation and study a regular activity during our studies at university…

The competition would serve as a goal to achieve this. That is why, we invite you, to register, especially if you are not sure of your recitation or memorisation, the less you know about Quran, the more we would like you to enter the competition!

Students, sisters and brothers from universities and colleges are all welcome. The competition is totally segregated.

This competition is aimed to give EVERY Muslim student the chance to enter the competition and win. Participants are not expected to memorise everything for the regional competition, as they can choose half of the section only.

Four sections structure the competition.
i. Tajweed (no memorisation).
ii. Juz Amma.
iii. Surat Baqara.
iv. First/Last Quarter of the Quran.
