NSQC: South Regional Student Qira'at Competition

Saturday 07 May 2011, 08:30 - 14:30

"...and recite the Quran in slow, measured rhythmic tones" (73:3)

The FOSIS National Student Qira'at Competition (NSQC) aims to get students closer to the Qur'an; its meaning and its stories. It hopes to promote the creation and development of Hifz and Tajweed classes at Islamic Societies across the UK & Ireland.

There are four categories:
...Tajweed,
Jus Amma,
Surah Bakara,
First/Last Quarter of the Qur'an

Check out the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAfgvDxRaFU

This is an opportunity to spend more time reciting, understanding and learning the greatest book on Earth. We encourage... all ISoc's to pass on this message to all their students.

We encourage our ISoc's to conduct their own internal competition (NSQC style!) and the winners from there can then progress to compete at the South Regional Finals, which will be hosted at the University of Surrey on 19th March, insha'Allah. If further advice or guidelines on this is needed please contact us

Participants: please remember that your ISoc must approve any participants who wish to enter the competition, and also that you can only enter one category!

Location : Surrey University, main campus
Contact : Br Omar: south.chair@fosis.org.uk or Sr Khadeja south.vicesister@fosis.org.uk
