FOSIS expresses serious concern following suspected arson attack on a Luton Islamic Centre

The Federation of Student Islamic Societies (FOSIS) in the UK and Eire today expressed serious concern following the suspected arson attack on a Luton Islamic Centre.

Qasim Rafiq, spokesman for FOSIS, said today, "The suspected arson attack on a Luton Islamic Centre often frequented by children is deeply disturbing and we hope that the perpretrators behind such a malicious attack will be brought to justice. There has been an alarming increase in the number of Islamophobic attacks being reported and we call upon the police for their support and advice. Such attacks seek only to divide the community and create animosity between individuals of different faiths and culture, however we must remain united in the face of such extremism."
