Interfaith Project

Introduction

Currently Muslim students are participating in interfaith activities on campuses, sometimes without proper guidance and therefore making mistakes therefore the Islam Awareness Committee within FOSIS felt that there was a clear need for guidance and direction with regards to Muslim student interfaith participation.

For this reason, in November 2006, FOSIS SALAM Project created a new post within the Islam Awareness Committee for an Interfaith Officer. This person will be incharge of assisting Islamic Socities with issues regarding Interfaith.

What has been done?

In understand whether an Interfaith officer was needed within FOSIS and also to understand the real issues that students faced regarding Interfaith, FOSIS SALAM held a Interfaith Seminar in Summer 2006. Click here to find out more details regarding this seminar.

As a result of the seminar, we are in the process of producing a guide for ISocs on how to approach inter-faith dialogue on campus and how to avoid the common pitfall associated with it.
