The Federation of Student Islamic Societies (FOSIS) in the UK and Eire today condemned yet another article in The Sun newspaper targeting human rights lawyer Mudassar Arani.

Faisal Hanjra, spokesman for FOSIS, said today, “Mudassar Arani has been the victim of a disgusting smear campaign launched by some of the most popular newspapers in this country. The idea that somebody who defends terror suspects should be victimised in such a manner is simply unacceptable. We have seen deliberate distortion of facts, figures quoted out of context and sensationalist reporting, resulting in the painting of a picture which simply is untrue, this must be condemned as both irresponsible and reprehensible.”

FOSIS calls upon The Sun and other media outlets to be more responsible in their reporting of stories.
