Over the past month a lot of Isocs have been busy with their annual charity week. Almost every single Isoc takes part in this unique event of raising thousands of pounds for orphans around t6he world. At Bradford where I am at we have had a fire breathing event, and there have been many other weird and wonderful initiatives to help raise money. It is certainly one event in the calendar year which Isocs really look forward to, working in healthy competition against other regions to see who can raise the most. From a Fosis perspective it really is inspiring to see so many Muslim students coming together for noble cause.

The services team are currently busy preparing for next months speakers tour. The confirmed date is Monday 6th Dec - Friday 11thDecember. We will be having a tour with the pragmatic Hamza Tzortzis. Although he is well known for touring Isocs dealing with theological debates and about the existence of God, this will be a different focusing on the miracles of the Quran and speaking to students about being part of the Quranic generation. Details of which Isocs that will host him will be out soon so keep your eye open for that. Also after the January exams we will be blessed to have Faraz Rabbani from the seekers guidance institution in Canada. The dates for that tour will be the week beginning Monday Feb 1st.

As well as university, Isoc and Fosis work, I've been doing a bit of travelling. I was invited to Chicago a couple of weeks back for the Interfaith youth core conference - a initiative designed to empower young people to work together to serve others. It gave me an insight to a lot excellent work Muslims and non Muslims of faith backgrounds coming together to do service for others. I was also asked to be on a student panel at a student event in London along with Faisal Hanjra the Fosis president, the NUS president. amongst others. It was a successful event but it also gave us an insight of how Muslim students feel on the ground - which is always important for the work of Fosis.
